Excellence in Invisalign Care

Orthodontic treatment has gone wireless! Invisalign® treatment is a highly esthetic “invisible”, removable alternative to conventional orthodontic treatment with brackets and wires. The best news is that you can obtain the look you desire without wires, restrictions in your diet, or a more challenging tooth cleaning regimen. Invisalign is a patient-friendly treatment option that is recommended by the doctors at Graber Orthodontics to treat a variety of orthodontic problems at different stages of dental development.

Graber Orthodontics is a VIP, Elite, top 1% Provider of Invisalign. This means that Graber Orthodontics currently uses Invisalign treatment for many patients and has treated patients with aligners for over 20 years. Even patients with complex dental alignment or bite issues, surgical patients, and/or those needing just a “tune up” to their smile can be candidates for clear aligner therapy. Additionally, we are happy to offer iTero Digital Scanning so in making your aligners, you’ll never need messy impressions. Instead of the “goop,” this scanner takes a 3D video image of the teeth – much more comfortable and more precise as well!

How Clear Aligners Work

The doctor analyzes your teeth digitally and plots movements to be executed in the Invisalign trays. At Graber Orthodontics, we are able to integrate a three dimensional photographic scan of your teeth with three dimensional radiographic imaging of the bone surrounding your teeth. This allows us to plan on tooth movement that not only improves your smile, but can position tooth roots in a healthier position for your gums. Instead of bending wires to move teeth, the doctor programs for the aligner material to change. Each clear tray shifts your teeth along the plan, moving them horizontally, vertically, and even rotating them. Invisalign is prescribed by the doctor and then custom engineered to use the right amount of pressure in the right place at the right time to successfully align your teeth with minimal discomfort. If discomfort is worrisome to you, ask us about Acceledent® or Propel V-Pro 5® micropulsers as an adjunct to further minimize the feeling of tooth movement.

During your Invisalign treatment, you will regularly change to the next set of aligners—usually every week or two. Each set of aligners is designed to move your teeth closer towards your final smile, following the custom treatment plan mapped out by Drs. Graber and Gyllenhaal. You will visit the office every four to ten weeks to check progress and make sure everything is on track. Some patients are unable to commit to a schedule of visits due to other obligations and we can also customize your protocols (and use FaceTime or Skype consultations) to allow for greater intervals between appointments.

Invisalign for Adults

Graber Orthodontics is the top provider of Invisalign for adults in Glenview and Vernon Hills. No matter your age, Invisalign can easily help you achieve the healthy, straight smile you’ve always wanted. Invisalign aligners are made from the new SmartTrack® material, so they provide a precise, custom fit for your teeth. These aligners are custom made for you based on the digital iTero scan and 3D digital image of your teeth and supporting gum and bone. The result is that they fit comfortably and accurately.

Since the aligners are clear trays, they are barely visible. Most people won’t notice you are wearing Invisalign! There are no brackets or wires and Invisalign is fully removable, so there aren’t the same food restrictions you experience with braces. Plus, you can brush and floss your teeth normally! The removable nature of Invisalign means that patient compliance is particularly important and it is up to you to make sure you wear your aligners as recommended.

Invisalign Teen

Invisalign is an excellent treatment option for many teens as well! Our Invisalign Teen treatment plans are specially designed for changing mouths, and can even accommodate the arrival of new teeth, helping to ensure that teeth grow into exactly the right spot. At Graber Orthodontics we are able to integrate the 3-D tooth scan with 3 dimensional images of the supporting gum and bone structure–allowing for enhanced diagnosis and more customized treatment planning over conventional aligner treatment. Invisalign Teen offers the same comfortable, removable, nearly-invisible aligners as Invisalign for Adults, but also includes complimentary replacement aligners. This is helpful to know as sometimes things happen!

No sports emergencies from broken brackets, nothing shows during a performance, and no interruption in playing instruments are only a few of the reasons teens prefer treatment with clear aligners to conventional braces. At Graber Orthodontics we also offer the “Teen Guarantee” – ask us today about teen treatment with Invisalign.

Phase 1 Invisalign

Graber Orthodontics is happy to offer Phase 1 treatment with Invisalign for many of our patients for whom treatment is needed during the exchange of permanent for primary teeth! Orthodontic treatment for these children can best be divided into two phases: Phase 1 treatment (also called early or interceptive treatment) refers to orthodontic treatment before all the permanent teeth are in place, usually between the ages of six and ten years old. Only about 15%-20% of patients who require orthodontics “need” an interceptive phase of treatment. This earlier treatment is of limited focus and most commonly addresses growth concerns with the jaw structures as well as making space for permanent teeth to erupt. Phase 2 treatment positions all permanent teeth after they have erupted. Usually, Phase 1 treatment allows for a shorter or simpler Phase 2 treatment and in many situations, both can be accomplished with Invisalign. Parents may choose Invisalign to address crowding issues during Phase 1 treatment, and it is a wonderful option for patients with metal allergies or sensory concerns!
